The Four Hand Shapes

eee.jpg

In palmistry, there are four general hand shapes that correspond to the four elements, earth, fire, water, and air. These often correspond to the astrological symbols and add a sense of spirituality to the system

Earth

Short fingers + Short palms

Earth hands are characterized by their squareness in shape, being rather thick and sturdy like the Earth. This creates somebody that is practical, down-to-earth, and phlegmatic. While they are very secure and reliable, they can be too near-sighted, causing ultimate pitfalls in long-term thinking.

Fire

Short fingers + Long palms

Fire hands are characterized by square palms and short fingers, with increased definition in their mounds and creases. They are driven by their passions and industriousness and are ambitious and energetic. Though, this may make them less tactful and less empathetic.

Water

Long fingers + Short palms

Water hands are very elegant, with long palms and long fingers and a narrow appearance. They are often slick or clammy to the touch. These people are in touch with their emotions, making them sensitive, as well as in touch with their intuition which often make them artists.

Air

Long fingers + Long palms

Air hands have square palms and long fingers and are often boney, with protruding knuckles and spindly fingers. This hand type signifies intellectually curious individuals with innate analytical abilities and communication skills. Those with air hands are easily distracted and, if not stimulated, can become anxious or edgy.
