I = Influence

I (Influence) styles are primarily motivated by social recognition, group activities and relationships. They prioritize action, collaboration and expressing their enthusiasm. They are often described as warm, trusting, optimistic, magnetic and convincing. I styles places high importance on relationships and collaboration and deeply fears being ignored, rejected, or disapproval. 

I styles typically want to attain victory with a flair, they mainly chase happiness and friendships. They mainly generate excitement and focus on achieving status through authority and prestige. I styles also seek approval and pursue popularity, and deeply fear not achieving that. 

They might need to improve; getting organized, researching the facts, resisting impulses, speaking directly, staying focused for long periods of time, and following through completely. 

In leadership positions, I styles love to take a new idea and run with it. They energize and motivate their teams and build enthusiasm for projects. But they can also be erratic leaders who see little need for consistency, or caution. However in most cases, I styles are energizing, pioneering and affirming. 

  • Fears: loss of influence, disapproval, being ignored, rejection

  • Values: coaching and counseling, freedom of expression, democratic relationships

  • Overuses: optimism, praise

  • Influences others through: charm, optimism, energy

  • In conflict: expresses feelings, gossips

  • Could improve effectiveness through: being more objective, following through on tasks

Main Traits: Optimistic, Energetic, Affirming, Warm, Trusting, Magnetic and Convincing
