Moderators
On PDB, moderators (or mods) are volunteers who work to maintain the platform's typology analyses, discussions and database. They have varying responsibilities depending on their designated role.
Board Captains
Board captains are responsible for managing large discussion boards on PDB. Their duties include
- pinning posts,
- removing posts and comments,
- banning users who violate community rules from their board, and
- approving join requests (if necessary).
* captains do not have any special powers outside of their moderated discussion board.
Typology Moderators
Typology moderators ensure the quality of typology analysis by
- pinning informative or warning threads (not opinions),
- removing posts and comments on a profile,
- identifying vote rigging behaviors (we are trying to automate this work)
- banning users who break community rules from making typology analysis,
- restricting a user's access to the platform.
Data Moderators
Data moderators protect the integrity of profile data in a specific category by
- reviewing and approving data-related requests,
- adding and removing profiles or subcategories, and
- banning users who violate community rules from adding or editing content.
Server Moderators
Server moderators manage PDB discord server (17+) by
- organizing event,
- removing messages from the server,
- banning users who violate server rules.
It is crucial to understand that moderators are not employees of PDB and their authority is limited to the specific area they moderate. They are free to make their own decisions, as long as they abide by the PDB Rules and Guidelines and moderation guidelines.
