Compare LII and ILI by Cognitive Functions (Model G)

Viktor Gulenko's comparison[1]

Tactical / Strategic dichotomy

In a pair of Analyst (LII) - Сritic (ILI), the strategist is Сritic (ILI). According to Aushra, everything is the other way around, she has a Critic as the tactic. But we consider Critic to be a strategist. After all, Critic's first function is Temporal Intuition (Ni, Intuition of Time), it is responsible for a very distant strategic vision.
The Analyst is also a "strategic" type, as he is intuitive. But he does not look that far.

Memory - Static / Dynamic dichotomy

The memory of the Critic and the Analyst is organized in different ways. This is due to statics-dynamics.
The Analyst (Static) has fixed kinesthetic memory. The memory of the Critic is better, it is organized in an associative way, it is not kinesthetic.
Critic (Dynamic) has sufficient visual imagination, which connects information of any quality with the help of associations: by similarity, by place, by time.

Intertype Relations

The Analyst (ESE's Dual) gets along with emotionally caring, until being obsessed, people, who in return demand gratitude from Analyst.
The Critic (SEE's Dual) gets along with powerful people who check the partner for strength, for example, take on the fright. The Critic passes this test and becomes taken into their circle.

Leadership qualities

Organizational abilities are better in Critic. Critic is characterized by a semi-dual displacement. Therefore, when he leads even large teams, he applies authoritarian techniques, like the Marshal (SLE). The Critic manages from the position of centralization.
An Analyst can manage small groups such as a research laboratory or specific projects. The Analyst tends to decentralized managing style.

Speech in front of the audience

Who performs better? Of course, Analyst. This is due to a balanced temperament, with rationality. In addition, the Analyst has a trainable ethics, the more he speaks, the better he develops emotional contact with the audience.
When the Critic worries when speaking, he may begin to stutter or show some inadequate emotional reactions (Fe- Brake).
(Editor's note: this might not be always true, might depend on subtypes.)

Scheme of actions in a new situation

Getting in a new situation, the Analyst tries to analyze it and to deduce a new scheme of actions.
Critic takes a well-known scheme from experience and adapts it to this situation.
Therefore, the Analyst faces more difficulties in the unusual situation. It must be said that both types are skeptical about some new radical actions. But if there is no way out, the Critic adapts to new situations more quickly.
(Editor's note: this difference may remind Carefree / Farsighted classic definitions, but both types are Farsighted.)

Perception and information processing - Process / Result dichotomy

The Analyst (Result) focuses on large blocks of information, and shelves the details for later. Therefore, it is easier for him to grasp the general picture and draw conclusions.
The Critic (Process) scrupulously and carefully studies the details. From the individual details, he builds the overall picture. Therefore, he never rushes to conclusions until he gets a general construction.

Mood

The Analyst has a stable and neutral mood. He does not focus on failures, does not delve into past events.
Critic's mood is volatile , at times depressive. He remembers many failures, mistakes, shortcomings and in a similar situation remembers all this associatively.
(Editor's note: this difference may remind Positivist / Negativist classic definitions, but both types are Negativist. Might be related to Constructivist / Emotivist dichotomy.)

Behavior in conversation

The Analyst will not support personal conversation if it is not interesting for him. Although he'll not leave the company out of politeness.
The Critic is able to support any conversation. But in case of fatigue, he can just go away or fall asleep. The rules of good manners do not bother him.

Ethics and sensing

Analyst's ethics and emotionality are weak by nature, but they train. Same time the skills of working with hands related to sensing, are weak and can be trained only to the small degree in case of Analyst.
Critic has the opposite situation. Emotions are very draining for him, but the skills of working with his hands, for example, minor repairs, are developing well if he trains them.

Behavior in the dispute - Se position

The Analyst (Se- Brake) does not like to argue and does not like to criticize. He will criticize as a last resort. He is satisfied with a peaceful and enthusiastic discussion.
The Critic (Se+ Manipulative) enjoys the aggravation of the situation, enjoys the clash of different points of view, the contradictions. He can attack a person with strong criticism, even in emotional form, especially if it is Critic of the Creative subtype.
